Junior Coaching
Coaching is a great way for your child to take up badminton and develop their skills. Our junior clubs throughout the week offer coaching in their junior sessions.
If you were looking for something more specific to your child, you could arrange for a qualified coach to run a private lesson at a local leisure centre. Please contact us for more information.
What to Expect in our Sessions
Your child can expect a fun, enjoyable and welcoming experience when they take part in a badminton coaching session. Whether it is in a group or individual session you can be assured the coach will differentiate activity for their ability and ensure they are having fun while learning.
What will they learn?
The specifics of what your child will learn in their coaching session will depend on their age and ability. It could include the fundamental movements and skills to start the game and progress to the learning tactics to help develop their game.
For primary aged children coaches may use The Racket Pack programme for their sessions and for secondary aged children your child may take part in SmashUp! Activities.

About our Coach
Playing from the age of 11 years old, Steve Kiernan has played and coached badminton in countries such as Belgium, Denmark and Malta representing his club and Warwickshire County. The tournament circuit and County matches as a junior took Steve and his team all over the UK competing against the best players in his age group. After coaching at his school, Steve then set up badminton sessions in the Solihull area, entering teams into the Solihull Badminton League with many members going onto represent the County and local leagues. Tudor Grange Junior Badminton Club recently won the league title and with the experience of working alongside some of the worlds best players and coaches the club aims to develop our future badminton stars!
